Define Synth. Full and Active Full at a certain day and time
Hi
We set up a backup from Monday to Saturday from 6.00 to 22.00 every two hours.
Our problem is now, that we only can set a day to define a synth. Full backup, but no a specific time. The same is for the active full backup, too. ;o)
Can anyone help?
Thanks.
Best regards,
Mario

Hi, Mario. Not sure whether I completely understand your concern, but the job has built-in mechanism that prevents it from creating more than one full backup per day. So, no issues with that – the full backup will be created only once in the beginning of the Sunday (at the time specified in the job common schedule - 6.00 am), and the following runs will be incremental ones. Thanks.

Thanks for the quick reply.
That's what a I do not like so much...
I'd like to have the Synth. Full at a certain time on saturday. for example at 22h not at 6h.
So, as I see, this is not possible yet, to define the time, when the Synth. Full und Active Backup should be done on the time I define, as I have a Backup Plan with time windows....

Yep, it’s not possible to specify the time when full backup should be performed, since it just takes the time from the job common schedule. Though, if you set a backup window during which job execution should be prohibited (say, Sunday 6– 21), the full backup will be created at desired time (22). Thanks.

Another option is to disable synthetic full in the job settings and utilize PowerShell to perform it at the desired time.

However, prior to starting execute full backups via PowerShell, be sure to run the first script provided in the post mentioned by Alexander in order to disable both synthetic and active full schedule. Thanks.
