Delete ViB files from storage
VEEAM V6 Update 3,
I would like to delete excess ViB files from our VEEAM backups. I can see the files in the folder view, but want to make sure that there is no unintended consequences. I understand that if I were to delete a VBK that it would effect the incramentals attached to it, but what would deleting an incramental do? Would this type of deletion corrupt the entire backup chain?
The reason for this is that we missed a couple of full backups due to a space issue and now we have too many backups because VEEAM is waiting to get to the next full before it deletes.

You will not be able to restore from any incremental backup following the deleted VIB.

So if I have 1 full backup and 6 incramentals for the week. I delete incramental number 4, this will cause incramental number 5 and 6 to be unusable? I would still be able to use incramental 1,2,and 3 though right?

Re: Delete ViB files from storage
Thank you, for the quick responses.
2 final questions...I think...
After those 6 incrementals I have a synthetic full and of course more incrementals. This deletion does not effect that correct?
VEEAM will have no trouble seeing that those backups have been removed from the repositiory?
