[V13] Deprecated and Discontinued features for our 2025 release

hmm sadly this doesn't work quite as I was hoping as the export function cannot just export straight out to a drive letter on the server, It has to be a backup repository.

I just read that non per machine backup chains are being discontinued. All our backups are a mix of drives of certain VM's so that we can make sure they fit on to our USB drives when we copy them over so that we can fit on all of the data on each drive in the most optimum manner.

This is an interesting puzzle..... I can do forever incrementals for 60 days but I will need to redo all my backups by server not in a mixture by drive (this means I will need to buy more USB drives to accommodate the space as some of the servers are very big though I suspect I can split them out into multiple backups right so vm1 may have 3x4TB drives in so i could split that out as backupjobvm1disk1, backupjob2vm1disk2 etc). I will also need to work out how to make my USB drives repositories so I can rotate them and will need to figure out which combination of full backups of servers will fit on each drive. Preusmably you can export (for example) backupjobvm1disk1 and backupjob5vm4disk4 to the same usb repository using the export feature? This is all theoretically possible I think or am I missing something?

Can you do rotations on USB drives daily (2 drives i.e. rotate every two days) and export multiple backup jobs (servers not mixtures) to them?

All, please pay attention to this. It's not just about tape of course.

This topic was never meant to be a place to discuss details around every single upcoming change, but rather to provide heads up on everything that is being deprecated and discontinued in one place for convenience of planning. If you have a question "how do I do this or that without deprecated feature X", please post your question in the corresponding subforum (general, tape, agents, etc.) where the responsible PM can actually see and respond to you on that, plan future changes to the product to accommodate your use cases etc. Which is in fact a very important part of a feature deprecation process!

Not only this topic is missing PMs who only monitor subforums for the functionality they are responsible for, but it is also completely unmanageable anyway with every other post talking about something different. Normally this topic should be just locked given such a chaos, however I'd really like to keep it open for more generic questions around the upcoming changes.

All, I'm locking this thread because the above request is still being ignored, however please do feel free to create separate dedicated topics for your use cases "How do I do A without feature B going forward" in the appropriate subforums and the responsible PMs will either explain how to achieve the desired results with existing capabilities, or will plan product changes to arrive in time for V14, which is when the features deprecated in V13 will finally be discontinued.
