Design document of Veeam Proxys and Repository
Hi!
Does it exists some design document, how to setup all hardware/servers for a Veeam solution?
I want one repository in each datacenter replicated to each other, because of one vcenter setup in each datacenter.
Is that possible to do ?
Is it Windows 2012 servers with interal storage that are recommended today ?
I got around 20Tb of VMs, with 250VMs.
Thanks, Magnus

Hi Magnus,
Proxy and repository deployment is pretty straightforward, just add the required server role via Add Server wizard and that's it.
Thanks!

We've got an existing discussion about the same backup approach, please check it out: v6 - How to have a local and off-site backup copy?yps wrote:I want one repository in each datacenter replicated to each other, because of one vcenter setup in each datacenter.
Do you mean using Windows 2012 server as a backup repository? If this is what you were referring to, then yes, absolutely! See this thread for some usage examples from real life: One month with Win 2012 dedupe and Veeamyps wrote:Is it Windows 2012 servers with interal storage that are recommended today
Thanks!

Re: Design document of Veeam Proxys and Repository
Whenever the discussion about architecture solution arises, this presentation created by fabulous Timothy Dewin, Veeam Systems engineer, comes into my mind.
It gives you a pure understanding how scalable this product might be and that when you get the “it depends” answer it’s not just a lame excuse.
Thanks.

Woah!!!
Never saw this presentation before, but is so simple and powerful at the same time! Do not know if Timothy reads these forums, but a huge thanks you for this presentation!
