Difference between "Guest file system indexing" options

Post by wa15 »

Hello,

Using Veeam v7 R2 here. On a backup job, when enabling "application-aware image processing (which is recommended for all Windows VMs), under advanced options, the indexing is automatically enabled for "index everything except system folders" by default. This is the case even if you don't explicitly check "enable guest file system indexing".

So my questions, if AAIP is enabled on the main settings page but file system indexing is not enabled, and yet by default "index everything except system folders" is enabled under advanced options, will the files on the VM still get indexed?

I hope the question makes sense.

thanks!

No, they won't. Thanks.
