Different retention for local and offsite backup copy

Post by wheebels »

Hi,

Does someone know if it's possible to configure a different retention for the on-site and off-site back-up copy? For example: I would like to configure the on-site back-up with one week retention (for DR purposes) and the off-site back-up copy with the full retention. The reason for this configuration is to save diskspace at the remote sites.

I appreciate your help!

Wim.

Hi, Wim,

Yep, it’s possible.

Actually, this is the most common scenario – to have both local backup job with short retention period and remote backup copy job that copies data offsite for long term archival purposes.

Thanks.
