Direct SAN access issue with no error

Post by marc25 »

Hi,

I have got a issue with Direct SAN access...I look for it since 3 days...

My Veeam backup is a physical machine with two NICs. The first one is connected to my LAN and the second to my SAN.
I use microsoft iSCSI initiator and the target was OK.
The NAS are 2 X Synology rackstation rs3412rpxs with 12 SSD and 10Gbits/s NICs used in iSCSI.

I used this configuration with ESXi 5.5, VCenter 5.5 and Veeam 7 for several months. Everything was ok.

I have just upgrade ESXi to V6.0.0,3073146, VCenter to 6.0.0.10000 and Veeam to 8.0.0.2084
Now, Veeam perform backup with no error but use only LAN network even I force the Backup Proxy to "Direct SAN access" with no failover network !

I can't see anything special on logs files except SSL errors...

I made fresh install for all ESXi, Vcenter and Veeam to see if that would solve my problem but no.

Any idea ?

Thanks,
Marc.

Hard to tell without seeing your infrastructure, as well as, logs.

So, you'd better contact support and let them investigate it directly.

Thanks.

Do you still see the VMFS LUNs in Disk Management on the Veeam B&R?
