Re: Disable configuration backup notification
Seems there is no way to do this, unless you're using per job notification settings and disable the global ones. I will check though.

Hi Mephisto,
You can disable notifications in Global E-Mail Notification Settings. However, there is no specific rule for configuration backups.
Thanks.

Re: Disable configuration backup notification
That would turn the configuration prone to errors in my opinion. The reason is that we send the client email reports, but I believe sending reports about configuration backup is excessive.foggy wrote:Seems there is no way to do this, unless you're using per job notification settings and disable the global ones. Disabling in global settings will disable all notifications about the VM backups too, right?Shestakov wrote:Hi Mephisto,

Re: Disable configuration backup notification
Unfortunately, yes.
The best what I can advice is to set a rule on your email server to discard notifications about configuration backup if you don`t need any of them.

Re: Disable configuration backup notification
I'll do that, thanks for the suggestion. For now I've just set the configuration backups to run less often.Shestakov wrote:Unfortunately, yes.

It would be nice to see an standalone option for the configuration backup notifications in the future integrated into Veeam

You can specify empty To: field in global settings and specify per-job To: addresses in the jobs where you need to send notification.

Re: Disable configuration backup notification
I appreciate the suggestion but I think this is prone to mistakes in the future if someone creates a backup job and doesn't know there is a custom way to set up the alerts for example.nefes wrote:You can specify empty To: field in global settings and specify per-job To: addresses in the jobs where you need to send notification.

You can use new "save as default" option; this will preserve the specified email settings for all jobs that will be created in future. Thanks.

I agree, would also like specific email settings available for Configuration Backups. Would like to receive e-mail only on error.

Re: Disable configuration backup notification
I would like to have this option too.
The mails are very annoying, i changed the backup to ones per month to "work around", of course not the best solution but better than get every day one of these irrelevant mails.

Re: Disable configuration backup notification
I would like to have this option as well. I've changed the config backup to only run on Saturdays to cut down on the "noise". But it would be nice if we could turn off the config backup success emails.

Re: Question about daily veeam Emails
Hi User56,
I would not recommend disabling these notifications because if the configuration backup is failing and you are not aware of the failures it may lead to the impossibility to restore your backup server configuration in case of disaster, but of course, it's up to you.
Thanks

Re: Disable configuration backup notification
Yes, it's always better to be aware of config backup job error so you can just uncheck the box "Notify on success".

Re: Disable configuration backup notification
I agree that there should be a way to disable the successful notification of a configuration backup. No other product I've ever used does this.
But to partly what you're suggesting that if an error in the backup of the configuration occurred, no one would know - so why wouldn't that still be sent? I think where it makes sense (and we're a rental license model to our customers) - is that only failed backup configurations should be notified - success does not need to be notified. Along with successful physical infrastructure scans or rental licenses auto-renewed successfully. All of these types of nightly emails are annoying - especially when you get tons of sites sending you status reports. I need 1 email per site telling me either failure or success of the backup job. Perhaps a 2nd email if there is an error in another sub-system (like config backup, or the physical scan fails, the license does not renew, etc.).
So I would appreciate a way to suppress the successful backups and or scans for these areas of the product, please?
