Disabling Backup File Encryption

Post by sconley »

If backup file encryption is disabled, will a full backup be required so that the entire chain going forward will not be encrypted?

Yes, active or synthetic full backup is required, otherwise we would have to recreate the already created [encrypted] backup files in the current chain. Thanks!

Sort of related: I assume the same would be true if switching from per-VM backup files as well in order to generate a single monolithic full backup file?
