Disabling SSH on Ubuntu repository server

Post by EdFrom »

Hello, just configured a new HPE Apollo 4510 server with Ubuntu 20.04 and added it as repo in Veeam v10.
The repo is part of a Scale out repo which also contains an Azure blob extent.
New to Veeam, so created a test job containing one VM.
Jobs targeting the SOBR run succesfully.
However, we chose Ubuntu for the repository server because we want to use the immutability feature when it's available in v11.
I've read that it's recommended to disable SSH on the repo server, but after I run "systemctl stop ssh" the job fails with error: "extent is unavailable".

Is it possbile (and recommended) to disable SSH on the repo server?

Hello,

The reliable SSH connection is on the list of requirements for Linux repository in the version v10. I would say that the described behavior is expected.

Thanks!
