Disaster Recovery VM

Post by jbrullemans »

Hello,

Is there for disaster recovery a vm avail which allows you only to restore backups. This would speed up the restore process if you have a complete system fail. Otherwise you have to install windows, download veeam get license file insall veeam etc etc.

John, you could create such a VM yourself (pre-install Veeam B&R there) or replicate Veeam B&R VM to be able to quickly fire it up in case of DR. Another option is the extract.exe utility that allows to restore even without installing a full Veeam B&R.

Hi Foggy,

I'm currently doing that but one question i have installed veaam 9.5 with a trail license but that expires. What is than the quickest way to restore it. Just use my original license in the dr vm?

Yes, you can install the same license in case of DR, since the same hosts will be protected by the new instance.
