Do backups fail when license is exceeded?
I'm running Veeam Backup and Replication 9.5 u3 and have per socket licenses for my VMware dual socket hosts. Say I have a 30 socket license (15 hosts). If I'm using all 30 licenses and I configure backup jobs for VMs that are on hosts that are not licensed, does the VBR server fail the backups? In other words, is it a hard limit or can I exceed the license count? I'd like to buy extra licenses so this doesn't happen but it would be good to know that if it did because someone wasn't paying attention that the backup would still complete and give a warning so we could go buy the extra licenses.

Hi Rocco, yes, if the license count is exceeded, the job should fail with the "Not enough licenses" message. Thanks.
