Hi all,
I am new with veeam B&R and i am trying to implement a Disaster recovery infrastructure with VEEAM B&R.
My doubt is about the best way to transfer the replica vmware VMs from the primary site and the secondary. I must use LAN or i can use Fibre connection (That i have) .
Could you advise me how to configure the connection for replication? Or tell me where i can find resource documentation to do it.
Many thanks

Re: DR Implementation
Hi Pierluigi,
Veeam replication jobs are using proxy servers to transfer data between two ESX(i) hosts and this traffic will always go through the LAN.
See our sticky F.A.Q. and Veeam B&R User Guide for further details. Also if you have any other question, please search these forums for existing topics, as all these topics have already been covered.
Thanks!

Re: DR Implementation
If fiber is use to connect only the storage area between two sites, I think a useful trick could be to prepare secondary datastores and connect them to the production ESXi servers, and use Veeam to do the first replica between the two; you can then change replica settings using the mapping feature towards these replicated VMs.
In this way, if fiber connection is faster than lan, you could take advantage of it at least for the first run.
Luca.
