Hi,
We currently use two Drobo B1200i units as backup targets, and they work well.
We have Drobo Pro units that will be available for use soon. I know that these are not as robust as the B1200i's, and only have one iSCSI port. That said, does anyone have any experience using Drobo Pros as a backup target? Is this supported by Veeam? If so, is it advisable to use the Drobo Por as a backup target?
Thanks,
Ken

Re: Drobo backup target: Is Drobo Pro OK?
Hi Ken,
we do not have an HCL, any storage that can be configured either as a local device on our windows or linux repository machine, or as an SMB share is supported.
That said, performances can vary depending on the hardware used, and it can fit or not your needs in terms of RPO, RTO and backup times. The single iscsi ports means the maximum speed will be around 125 MB/s, but it's not automatic that this will be a bottleneck, if for example the production environment cannot be read at that speed.
