Dual home secondary backup
I was just wondering if anyone has tried the following. I have a windows repository where the main backups are held. We are purchasing cold storage and are planning to set it as a secondary repository. The dual home part comes in that we have a secondary internet connection as a backup. Since it is only used as emergency, we wanted to use it to send the secondary copy through it. If we set up two different networks, would it be possible to accomplish this?

Re: Dual home secondary backup
Hi Edsel,
Yes, it will be possible as long as you have the routing between these two different networks: the source Data Mover will be started on the Windows repository and the target one will be running on the secondary repository, data transfer is performed by these Data Movers. You may have a look at this page for more details about backup copy architecture.
Thanks!
