Hi,
case #04812314.
One of our copy jobs to an offsite location is reporting the following error once a day on the SQL transaction log backups:
Transaction Log Backup job failed: Duplicate DbOib Uid
According to the engineer this is causes by a line drop during the transfer (connection reset found in the logs). According to the engineer the only way to correct this is by deleting all transaction log backups so that on the next run the transaction logs from the source are transferred again.
My question is, why is Veeam susceptible to this? To my knowledge, copy jobs were designed to be resilient against unstable connections especially across the internet. So why did this connection reset cause a database corruption?

Re: Duplicate DbOib error on copy job
Hi Franc, the error says about duplicate backup IDs in the source backup and this is what needs to be investigated in the first place - why did this happen. It doesn't say anything about the connection to the target so it is not relevant here.

Re: Duplicate DbOib error on copy job
Hi Foggy,
thanks, but according to the support engineer this was the probable root cause. See case notes.
