Eligibility for Upgrades during grace period
Hi
I would like to know if the subscription is expired and in grace period, would the environment still be eligible for upgrading to latest version i.e. 9.5 U4 to 11 if the current subscription is in grace period. Kindly clarify. Thank you.

Re: Eligibility for Upgrades during grace period
The main purpose of grace period is to cover the potential delays in receiving the new license file. Nevertheless, license in grace period is considered as an expired license and owners of expired license are not eligible for new product versions. Thanks!

Re: Eligibility for Upgrades during grace period
Hi Veremin,
Thanks for the reply.
Let me explain the situation. The current version is 9.5, however I have got a new subscription for V11 to protect additional instances. The current subscription is expired recently and in grace period. The existing subscription is currently under consideration for renewal and is taking more time to renew. Since I can install V11 Licenses only if the VBR is 10 or more, I would like to understand an alternate way to address the situation.

You can provide a license when you are doing the upgrade. Provide the new license file.

Re: Eligibility for Upgrades during grace period
The new license file should have enough instances/VUL count to cover your entire workload. If not, backup could fail after the upgrade. And of course, the license need to be valid and not in grace period.
