EMC DataDomain Case

Post by chrisBrindley »

I have been on the phone with EMC today and they are going over the performance issues we see in their DD860, they are getting ready to release a new firmware and they have agreed that DDBOOST will solve a lot of issues in the future, when asked if anything in the future will help with the rehydration, they asked me what MTU we were running and if we run validation when trying to restore files, I said i have no idea about either.

What in Veeam would enable us to use a bigger MTU, they were requesting jimbo frames to allow our checksums to go from 6 to 1, whereabouts is this changed in Veeam or is this purely the setting in the hosts to allow Jumbo frames?
Also does anyone know what they are talking about with this file validation setting when doing a file restore.

MTU is purely network equipment settings.
