Hi
We are looking to move one of our customers from EMC Networker to Veeam, but would like to use the same EMC Data Domain as the target, which currently is Networkers target.
Is it possible to use the EMC Data Domain as the target for Veeam as well as EMC Networker while we migrate off networker. The idea would be to let the networker jobs age out then increase the retension on Veeam as avaiable space become free.
Any advise would be great.

Re: EMC Data Domain With Veeam & EMC Networker
Hi,
Yes, it is possible, and should be fine as long as you do not trigger backups simultaneously from both EMC and Veeam. As far as I understand, your Networker is going to be pruning the existing backup set without adding new restore points until the whole chain is gone by retention, is that correct?
There is also a limit of 60 incremental restore points for single full backup on DD, please check this BP guide for more details.
Thanks

Thanks for that information.
To answer your question, yes networker will be pruning existing backup sets till they are all gone.
Noted for the incremental limit on DD.
