[NFR] enhance visibility of the connected server in the console

Post by tinto1970 »

Good day, I was swapping between two of my VBR server in my lab today, and had trouble in understanding which one I was managing: it's GREAT to have in the bottom line the "connected to: VBR1.local.lan" and the ability of changing the color of the interface.

But i think it would be really a good idea to put in great evidence the name of the VBR server: I've been working in complex environment with many VBRs and that could be helpful.

Some ideas: Write the VBR Name in the Window bar ("Veeam Backup & Replication: VBR1.LOCAL.LAN), or, even better, near the Home, Inventory, Backup Infrastructure labels.

guess this could save lot of time and potential human mistakes.

my 2 cents, thanks

Hi Alessandro

You can already display a dedicated Name using a registry key.

Apply the registry keys from KB4458 on each Backup Server. Use the backup server name, FQDN, or any text you prefer in the UIClassifiedStripeText value — it will then appear as a colored banner in the backup console.

Regarding your request; Since our development resources are focused on adding all workloads and functionality as fast as possible to the new Web UI, we currently don’t have any plans to further enhance the backup console.

Best,
