Hi
Our 1st Line support guys have recently started using Enterprise manager for Windows file level restores. In the Ent Manager interface we are only able to see files from backup jobs and not from Backup copy jobs. Would I need to install Windows search and the Veeam search service on every server that hosts a repository? If so then what about cloud repositories and NAS shares? I would think that the backup copy jobs would retain the file index from the backup job.
Any help will be much appreciated.
Thanks
Brent

Re: Enterprise Manager - File restore from Backup Copy Job
Backup copy job does preserve indexes. But as long as the original backup ("source" backup job restore point) is present, the files will be searched inside it, not inside restore points created by backup copy job. Thanks.

Just wanted to add that if you're using Enterprise Edition, then files presence in the backup console will not be required > Guest File System Indexing
