Enterprise Manager

Post by JaxIsland7575 »

Not sure if this is the best place for this question, but I installed Enterprise Manager and connected 2 VBR servers. They use 2 separate licenses, is there a way to tell Enterprise Manager that they have their own licenses and are current. Right now it only sees the one license and things I do not have enough.

Cheers!

Ryan, there's a registry key that allows to disable license auto-update on backup servers, please contact technical support to get it.

So this issue was not as easy as I first expected. I went through tech support (case #: 01020950) and they said they had no solution to allow enterprise manager to look at 2 separate VBR servers with 2 separate licenses. They sent me the number to sales which gave me the number of my rep who I used prior to purchasing Veeam. I have reached out to him via email today to see what he says about it. I think the registry key you suggested was a fix for a different issue, I will let you know what I find out!

Cheers!

Ryan I can confirm the key is there, and the original use case was for service providers to be able to manage multiple customers with their own license key, from a single enterprise manager.

Luca and Vitaliy thank you very much. I have not heard yet today but I will be patient. My rep also said this was not possible but that is a mute point now.

I appreciate the help.

Cheers!

I have modified the registry per support's email but I still receive the warning in Enterprise manager that I do not have enough licenses. I suspect the registry key stop forcing all my VBR servers to use the same license file, but there is no fix for the Warning when I open Ent Mgr. This is fine with me, I am just glad its working.

Cheers!

Looks like a bug, passed this to R&D.

@JaxIsland7575, I have the same problem. Our enterprise license is not being pushed to the VBR servers, but it complains about not enough licenses.

Let me know if you solve it. Would be nice to have every "status" green in the Enterprise Mananger.

This is tracked to be fixed in one of the future versions/updates.

I did solve it but it does require opening a support case. I added this forum link to my case so the tech could verify what I was talking about. I am sure if you go ahead and open a case and post the case ID here, they will have no problem assisting you.

Cheers!
