Error when adding database in SP Explorer
I exported Sharepoint content database to file and tried to Add database from SP Explorer but I get the error "failed to prepare primary database file for remote staging". I have configured stageing SQL server, I have restored SQL databases and Sharepoint items with explorers. I also did not find any information about that error message. What I am missing or what is not configured correctly and what I should do to be able to Add database in SP Explorer?

We haven't seen similar issue previously, and quick forum search also suggests nothing. So we would appreciate, if you reach our support team and share ticket number here (once you get it). Thanks!

Re: Error when adding database in SP Explorer
I looked at log files and before I open the case I am asking here one more time. Database file is on local disk h: at Veeam server, SP explorer is installed on Veeam server, staging SQL server is remote server. Log file had following information:
It seems that STAGESQL server wants to do something with a file on another server and fails. This veeambackupaccount is administrator on both servers and has sysadmin role on SQL instance. Are there some permissions I have missed somewhere?

Re: Error when adding database in SP Explorer
Okay... subnetting and limiting access sucks. Staging sql server was in different subnet and seems there are some limits for a traffic in place. If I put it in same subnet as Veeam then it worked.

Re: Error when adding database in SP Explorer
I got it working when exported database was on local dirve but when I tried to add database from network drive (local drive did not have enough space) then I got same error message. Seems that application logic is such that network drives are not supported. Looking at the log I saw that SP Explorer tries to share the folder on network drive and you can't do that with windows. I looked at documentation for SP Explorer https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... ml?ver=110 but did not see any mentions about it. Can you update the documentation or is there some workaround so I can use mapped network drive?

Re: Error when adding database in SP Explorer
Double checked with the QA team, the local drive is indeed required in this case. The documentation will be updated soon. Thanks for bringing this up!
