Error when installing Veeam B&R Console v10

Anybody got any ideas on how to resolve this

So I'm trying to install the Veeam B&R Console on my Windows 10 laptop so I don't have to remote into the server every time, however everytime I attempt to install it comes up saying vmapowershellconfig - The system cannot find the file specified.

I had raised a technical support case 03997544, however I do feel that I'm not getting anywhere.

any ideas?

Hello,
as you seem to have the same problem with 9.5U4 and V10, I assume that it is a specific issue with your PC.

But just to make sure: did you check the integrity of the ISO file?

Do you have a chance to try the installation with a "clean" PC?

Hello

yes had issues with 2 different ISO files.
The installer ISO worked on the Backup Server (Win Serv 2012) without any problems. I'm hoping to resolve this without the need to reset my Windows 10.

There was something in the log file that caught my attention which I thought I had posted on my message

Did you ever get this resolved? If so, may I ask the resolution in your case? - I have the EXACT same issue and the same error logs when trying to install the VBR Console..

Hello Daniel,

Thank you for your post. Based on the case details I see that issue has been resolved by setting the correct permissions to the following folders:

C:\Windows\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0
C:\Windows\SysWOW64\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0

I have exactly this problem with VBR Console V11. What permissions are required on those folders, please, and for what accounts?
Also, where is the installation log for VBR Console?

Hello Ian,

The setup logs should be in C:\ProgramData\Veeam\Setup and Read/Write (or full access) was required. Thanks!

Just to indicate the precise solution, as permissions on those two WindowsPowershell folders did not solve the problem. Veeam Support (case 04831970) advised me that it was the powershell.exe.config file in those two folders that needed Full Control for local Administrators, and when I did that and ran the standalone Console installer (V11) using Run As Administrator, it sailed through! Thank you, Veeam, always brilliant support, patient & dedicated.

Encountered Error 1603 during Veeam 11a 11.0.1.1261 upgrade. Uninstalled Veeam, reinstalled, same issue. Upgraded SQL express to the latest version and install worked correctly.
