Esxi passthorugh and Veeam Backup
Hi -
I have enabled Esxi passthrough to make a tape drive visible inside a SBS 2008 VM.
But passthrough disables snapshots. I guess this also means Veeam Backup And Replication cant be used on this VM ?
(Esxi 4.1)
kind r
Bjørn.

Hello Bjørn, yes you must be able to create snapshot on VMs you want to backup with any VMware image-level backup solution. Thanks!

ok I see. My thought was to use Backup Exec with Tape drive on this VM. Im not sure if Veeam yet is capable to backup Exchange and SQL bases?

Veeam Backup and Replication is fully capable of backing up Exchange and SQL databases. Should more information be required, please check out the whitepaper about SQL and Exchange backups on our website as well as a sticky F.A.Q. topic. Thanks!

So, it is actually time to trow out Backup Exec and let Veeam do all the backup job in a small SMB virtual environment (Small Business Server + Premium Application server). ?
