Exchange explorer, disconnected mailboxes?

Post by lando_uk »

Hi

Is it possible to recover disconnected mailboxes? An example, In exchange, we keep deleted accounts mailboxes for 60 days, if a user gets deleted half way through a month, can we get back the disconnected mailbox from the next month end Veeam job after deletion?

Thanks
Mark

Mark, just to make sure I understand the use case: the mailbox is already deleted but you have a backup with this mailbox at the time when it was disconnected, right?

Example:

Mon - User object was deleted but mailbox still remains in a disconnect state for 60 days until Exchange purges.
Tues
Wed - Backup (the user no longer exists, but the mailbox does)
Thur
Fri
Sat
Sun

From the backup, can we find previously disconnected mailboxes that don't have a user account associated with them?

Ok, you will be able to browse the database and find such mailbox via Veeam Explorer for Exchange, as well as restore its contents.
