Hi,
I'm still under testing phase but i'm curious about the VB&R requierement when installing the tool. What is use in the VB&R core ?
Nice tool, MS should have done it a long time ago

You could install the 64-bit version of Veeam 6.1 Free Edition on any 64-bit Windows system that you have, including a Windows 7 desktop, and then install the tool. After that you can use the tool with your existing backups on the 2003 32-bit server.

Not planned for now based on U-AIR wizards usage statistics.

Re: Exclusive Beta - Veeam Explorer for Exchange - Apply Now
After a flawless install, I ran my first test restore and it too ran flawlessly!
I retrieved a backup from my NAS, on a rollback to 6/30. I browsed to my test 1.6GB EDB file with roughly log files to replay. The whole process from Guest File Restore, to browsing to the EDB file, and restoring an email as a .msg file to my local HD took 58.39 seconds! WOW!

I for one know that I would be much more inclined to use a SQL Explorer than U-AIR for SQL. Because of the speed of my backup storage, SureBackup/U-AIR is virtually unusable and end up just doing it manually via a Instant Recovery.

Hi,
are there plans to support other Exchange Versions than 2010?
We have some customers who still use Exchange 2003 or 2007.
Thanks

Are there any plans for Veeam integration with any cloud products such as Office 365?

I think this is more difficult since on Office 365 nobody except Microsoft itself has any access to the underlying (hyperv?) servers.

Hi Ryan, are you saying you want to backup your company's data from Office 365?

Re: Exclusive Beta - Veeam Explorer for Exchange - Apply Now
Hey Gostev,
Indeed actually we do. Office 365 lacks some functionality: If an employee leaves the company there is no means to archive that user's entire mailbox in a readable format without assuming their identity and logging in as them through outlook. A feature to download the user's mailbox in its entirety for archival purposes, and allow us to extract mail from it would be invaluable. If such a feature could be incorporated in our backup solution even better. Such a backup could be of potential value in a migration process from a cloud solution to a local exchange server / vice versa.
Given that office 365 and Veeam are built with powershell in mind, I imagine it wouldn't be impossible to make this happen.

Re: Exclusive Beta - Veeam Explorer for Exchange - Apply Now
I also applied but need it ASAP!!!.
Replacing Avamar with Veeam and having issues launching surebackup and u-air in the virtual lab. The company I work for uses Trend Deep Security and I excluded the Virtual_Lab from the DSVA filter but I can't exclude the VM's being launched in the lab. So when I launch the surebackup I get the following error: "xxx VirtualMachine.invokeFSR.label not found xxx"
Otherwise I need to find out how to restore Exchange DB's and mailboxes from console backups.

Chad, please contact your Veeam sales rep, they should be able to assist with manual approval.

Re: Exclusive Beta - Veeam Explorer for Exchange - Apply Now
Daniel - no, Veeam reseller will not help you with this. Manual approval is possible only for Veeam ProPartners (by contacting their respective inside team at Veeam). Also, major accounts may try luck contacting their corporate account manager at Veeam.
For everyone else, the approval procedure is built around automated scoring system (I explained this in details in the weekly forum digest 2 weeks ago). We have a few thousands registered for beta now, and of course we will not approve everyone - only selected applicants with highest score will be approved, may be 10% or less. That reminds me I should make this topic non-sticky.
You can also try and get the invite from another beta applicant (everyone accepted into beta gets additional invites he or she can share).
Thanks!

I have some invites remaining if people would like to try it (it's very impressive by the way).
Gostev/Vitaliy, is it ok if I post the link here or would you rather people PM me?
Mark.

PM might be better a better idea, since the invite link is not something permanent - will expire as soon as it is used.
