Scenario is as follows:
- production site has practically all vmdk's set to thin provisioned.
- recovery site has replicas created by Veeam B&E 4, all vmdk's set to thick (since version 4 did not support thin provisioned disk for the replica vm)
We just upgraded to v5 this morning, ran an existing replica job, which ran fine. However, the destination vmdk files are still thick.
In job properties, the replica disks setting is set to "As on original VM".
What do we have to do to get the replica vm's on a diet?
I hope it doesn't involve removing all previous rollbacks and starting from scratch...
Thanks!

Re: Existing replica jobs - how to enable thin provisioning?
Hi Jonathan,
it is required to recreate the job. Please read this thread: http://www.veeam.com/forums/viewtopic.p ... ion#p19240
best regards,
Joerg

Re: Existing replica jobs - how to enable thin provisioning?
Hello Jonathan,
Yes, Joerg is right.
Thick and thin disks are handled in different ways, let me explain in details: when you use thick disks on target, B&R copies disks and then registers that VM. With thin disks this process is done vice versa: firstly, B&R registers VM and then attaches its disks. That's the first major difference.

Re: Existing replica jobs - how to enable thin provisioning?
(Clickety-clickety) move 4TB worth of replica's to nearline storage... (clickety clickety) re-create jobs... (hope I won't need any of the old replica's for the next week or so) done!
Thanks, guys!
