Veeam Explorer registry uninstall string incorrect
Hello,
I think there is an error on the registry key set for these Veeam explorer :
Exchange
Sharepoint
Teams
They have the string msiexec /I ....
It should be msiexec /X like it's for the other explorers.
The /I is for install
The /X is for uninstall

Not yet.
I'm pretty confident we can confirm it and it will be solved in our upcoming release (v12.1).
But still waiting for the confirmation.
Best,
Fabian

Hi Matteu
I have news from QA.
Uninstall string can have I or X. Even Microsoft is using /i for some of it's component.
As an example, you can check "Microsoft SQL Server 2014 Management Objects (x64).
Do you see any issues with /I?

Fabian

Re: Veeam Explorer registry uninstall string incorrect
Hello,
Thanks for your news.
Unfortunately as I said in my first message, it's totally different usage.
/I = Install a product.
So, if you want to install a product, it will be msiexec /I file.msi
If you want to uninstall a product it will be msiexec /x productCode
Lot's of product doesn't have the good "uninstallString" value... And here, it's the case on some Veeam Explorer. It would be better to resolve it
You can just check it when you do "msiexec /?"
