Export disk contents as virtual disks

Post by clintd »

Hi Guys,

We use the community edition of Veeam backup but would like to export disk content as virtual disks to aid in DR testing, but this option doesn't show.
Is it a limitation of the free version can anyone tell me?

Thanks in advance

Shouldn't be the case.

Very odd, as when I am in the backups options and select the relevant server / recovery point, these are the only options presented:

Instant Recovery
Restore entive VM...
Restore VM files...
Restored guest files
Restore to Amazon EC2...
Restore to Microsoft Azure...
Export backup...
Delete from desk

Can anyone else shed some light on how I go about exporting the backup as a VHDx file type?

Cheers
Clint

Is that backup's platform listed as "Hyper-V" in the respectful column?
Use "Restore VM files" option and select required VHDX to restore then.

/Thanks!
