External Repository for Azure

When would we be able to add an External Repository in Azure? Currently AWS S3 is the only option.

Can you clarify what are you trying to achieve by adding external repository? I am asking because most people are confused with what this functionality is supposed to do. Many think this is how you set up backup to object storage, which is not what external repository is designed for. Thanks!
