Extract Utility Question
Hi
This is regarding support case ID 5201065
On Veeam BR enterprise 6.1 BR server with an 500GB E: repository( FC SAN):
I am getting an error (incorrect function)when I try to run the extract utility. Its my first time running it so I assume I am missing something fundamental.
Any help would be appreciated.
C:\>cd "Program Files\Veeam\Backup and Replication"
C:\Program Files\Veeam\Backup and Replication>extract
Enter path to VBK backup file:
>E:\Backups\Cluster2 Daily Prod_1
Incorrect function.
Failed to read data from the file [E:\Backups\Cluster2 Daily Prod_1].
--tr:Failed to open storage for read access. Storage: [E:\Backups\Cluster2 Daily
Prod_1].
--tr:Failed to list items in the storage [E:\Backups\Cluster2 Daily Prod_1].

Re: Extract Utility Question
Seems like a permissions/connectivity issue. Can you access the specified storage using Windows Explorer?

Re: Extract Utility Question
Since your path includes spaces, try using quotes - just like you would in cd line above.
Although it looks like it understands the path you entered correctly anyway...

Re: Extract Utility Question
Thanks for the feedback.
I can connect to and write to the folder using explorer, yes.
I created another backup without spaces etc... and get this error now.
C:\Program Files\Veeam\Backup and Replication>extract
Enter path to VBK backup file:
>E:\Backups\Test
Storage [%1] not initialized.
--tr:Failed to open storage for read access. Storage: [E:\Backups\Test].
--tr:Failed to list items in the storage [E:\Backups\Test].

Re: Extract Utility Question
That's not a path to a VBK. A path to a VBK would be E:\Backups\Test\MyBackupJob.vbk
