Dear all
Hi
in document for fail over said :
after fail over All changes made to the VM replica while it is running in the Failover state are written to the delta file of the snapshot, or restore point, to which you have selected to roll back.
1- is that your means when replica machine in DR site start and change to fail over mode if copy data to replica machine will it create a new vmdk file ?
2- what does means from while it is running in the Failover state are written to the delta file of the snapshot ?

Re: fail over mode and delta disk
Hi,
During failover initiation the delta file will be created for VMDKs of the VM, so any changes are written to that file.
Afterwards you can decide to rollback to the production VM and discard all changes (undo failover), by doing this you will instruct VBR to delete --delta.vmdk file.
Another option is to migrate permanently to the DR site VM and apply all changes being made (permanent failover), by choosing this the delta file will be consolidated.
I'd recommend you to read VMware KB called "Understanding VM snapshots" for complete understanding of the process. Thanks!
