Failed to generate points Error: Socket has been forcibly cl
Hi,
My copy job to DR site failed the other day with "Failed to generate points Error: Socket has been forcibly closed. Failed to recover connection" which is expected, as the Linux repository ran out of memory.
But what does "Failed to generate points" mean?
When i look at properties for my copy job all dates is listet as okay and the job also ended with "Full backup file compact completed successfully".
/Robert

Re: Failed to generate points Error: Socket has been forcibl
It seems that simple, GFS, compact full or active full restore point failed to be created. Might be worth checking whether:
- There are no missing GFS points
- The latest restore points have size comparable to the previous points of the same type
Thanks.

I´m not sure looking at the numbers - I´ll open a case to get it verified.

Re: Failed to generate points Error: Socket has been forcibl
If my memory serves me well, backup copy job always creates an incremental file within an interval regardless of restore point creation result. So, I was suggesting checking whether it's been indeed a normal restore point, and not a just placeholder; and size is a good indicator.
Anyway, support team will be able to assist you with troubleshooting process.
Thanks.

OK, let's wait till support team review the corresponding logs and pass a final verdict. Chances are, you encountered an intermittent issue that didn't cause anything, but there is no harm in double checking.
