Failure to restore Configuration Backup to new VBR server

Hi All,

Failure to restore Configuration Backup to new VBR server - Case # 00662258

We have had issues with RPC connection affecting our existing VBR server for some time, we've tried everything we can think of to fix it, and we had a workaround of resetting the WMI repository, but now even that has stopped working, so are attempting to move our VBR setup to a new server. We have installed a fresh copy of VBR, disconnected our iSCSI backup repository from the old VBR server and connected it to the new one, and when we attempt to restore the Configuration settings, we get:

Unable to restore database VeeamBackup. Invalid column name 'os_platform'

and

Failed to restore configuration backup

Yet, when we then open VBR on the new server, it has imported details about the backup jobs from the old VBR server. It also shows [This server] as being Unavailable in the Backup Infrastructure tab, and if we attempt to rescan [This server], it fails with 'Host discovery failed'. Anyone got any ideas? As this leaves us without any Backup Copy Jobs for offsite backup (we can reinstate our old VBR server for onsite backups, as they work ok).

Just an idea, did you make sure you are running the same version (patches included?) on both servers?

Quick thoughts, is there enough space on the new server to hold the config database? Have you double-checked all credentials are entered properly?

Express or Full SQL?

I'm along the same line with Timothy. Most likely, the installation configuration backup has been taken from did include patches, meanwhile, the one you're trying to restore configuration to does not. Thus, the issues. Thanks.
