(i chose idea for the subject, request sounds a little more demanding than this topic deserves, i guess)
Hi there,
i just had an odd experience with a customer that has a rather large fileserver, 14 drives of 2 TB each are attached. Using per-VM Backup files results in a single ~17TB VBK. (Yeah i know, i wouldn't size my fileserver this way either)
Wouldn't it be a good idea if you could split that ginormous files in smaller pieces, e.g. per vmdk=
I was advertising 2019 ReFS with dedup and then realised: 4TB max filesize (to be included in dedup process anyways).
Additionally: Mounting that file also takes a teensy little bit of time. Or ages, however you want to phrase it
I know, that would also mean the process of a FLR would have to change a little (optionally selecting drive(s) after selecting Restore-Point before Veeam Explorer even starts)
Best Regards
Thomas
