When you've enabled transaction logs backups and restore a SQL database, you'll get an error message from Veeam during transaction log backups that one or more databases were excluded. This is expected since no full backup exists yet for the restored database. You'll get these errors until a full backup is taken (be it manual or automatic on the scheduled full backup run). Because we have scheduled full database backups 4 times a day and transaction log backups every 15 minutes we get the error notification mail many, many times.
The solution is to manually start the parent job of the transaction log backup job or wait until it starts on schedule so that a full backup is taken.
It would be nice if Veeam detects such a situation and it automatically takes a full backup of the database so that transaction log backups are successful again right after the restore.

Re: Feature request: auto backup of database after restore
Hi Franc,
It's an interesting idea but we process the entire virtual or physical machine with all databases on it, we don't process data at the database level. But do I understand correctly that the main issue for you is that you get error messages? Maybe, we can fix it in our reports somehow, make warnings or info messages instead of errors.
Thanks!

Re: Feature request: auto backup of database after restore
Hi,
I understand, but an option to trigger the parent job would also be fine for me
. Then we have full backups of all databases.
Indeed you understand correctly. As an example we get the following error notification mail:
Transaction logs from some databases were not backed up for the last 4 intervals

Ok, we'll discuss internally different methods to improve the behavior in one of our future versions.
Thanks!
Thanks!
