Have an issue with losing restore points for backup going to EMC DataDomain dedupe box for per-VM backup. Case # 03672971
The DD box was full and backup failed with no space. Restore points for one of three backups were gone but the vbk, vib files still showed in File view. VBM was gone. An active Full backup after cleanup was done recreated the VBM file. Old restore points were not accesible. A file copy cannot be done as the DD box uses DDBoost protocol. Could the Veeam app not do a backup of the VBM file?

Re: Feature request- backup VBM file
Hello,
and welcome to the forums.
As far as I remember you could share the DDboost store with SMB protocol and copy the backup files manually. Then you could import them.
Could that be a solution?
Best regards
Hannes

Re: Feature request- backup VBM file
I might not get the case, but if the backup chain is accessible on the storage and VBM file is missing, you can still import the chain in Veeam B&R via VBK file.
