“If the configuration database does not contain information about the backup job that created the backup, Veeam Backup & Replication does not remove such a backup from the backup repository.”
If these orphan jobs/backups grow over time, for whatever reason, rather than having to go in there and delete em manually, would be cool to optionally set a time limit on how long they can exist before purging. Maybe some kind of context menu right-click item for defunct jobs?
Or perhaps a global “delete orphaned job and its backups older than X days” or “delete orphans in orphaned job older than Y days”, or both.

Re: feature request: delete orphaned job backups older than X days
Hi Edison
V12 will bring an improved background retention.
The backup server should automatically remove orphaned backups based on their time based retention ("day"), even if the job was deleted.
Would that solve your request?
Best,
Fabian
