Feature request -- Dynamic proxy failover

Post by TitaniumCoder477 »

When a job is in progress, i.e. backup, replica, quick migration, etc., and a proxy fails for some reason, I would like BNR to be able to choose another proxy from the available ones and continue with the task rather than fail.

Hi James,

Thanks for the feedback! From technical perspective, it is not something that is easy to implement but we can think about possible solutions if we have enough requests for this functionality.

Thanks!

I don't really see how this can be implemented in a reliable fashion... to continue processing on a different proxy, we would need to blindly trust that the data we already received from a then-failing backup proxy was all correct up to the very moment it failed completely. This seems like a terrible idea?
