Feature Request: Email Notification Job Doesn't Run

Post by itadam »

We get several successful, warning, failed, etc. job email notifications. As such, a job that fails to run can be easily overlooked. If a job is scheduled but fails to run, there's no notification option for this and can potentially result in missed backups.

Hi Adam

A scheduled job should always run. Only if you disable a job (or the backup service) the job won't be running.
You can use Veeam One to report on disabled jobs as well to list "last successful backup" per machine:
"Protected VMs report": https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/one/r ... ml?ver=120
"Job disabled alarm": https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/one/m ... ml?ver=120

Thank you for the reply. I agree that the job should always run, but there a some situations when it won't. The most recent was when we upgraded Veeam from version 11 to 12, which broke communication with agents (see KB4421 link below for the fix). It would have been nice to receive an email notification stating the scheduled backup job didn't run so we wouldn't have missed any backups. Veeam One doesn't appear to be an option for us as the free version wouldn't have helped.
