Feature Request for Enterprise Manager - Allow restore from Backup Copy Jobs
Hello, I want to request a feature improvement for the Enterprise Manager web console. Currently, if you work with Backup Copy Jobs, you cannot specifically restore from them in Enterprise Manager. Enterprise Manager seems to always prioritize the regular Backup Job. This is an issue for setups where you are backing up things to an S3 repo, and have a Backup Copy Job that copies them to an on premise repo. If I wanted to restore to an alternate location in my on premise environment, I basically would have to pay double egress fees because Enterprise Manager will restore from S3 instead of my local copy that I already have. Since you can restore from Backup Copy Jobs in the classic B&R console, you should also be able to do this in Enterprise Manager. Thank you for your consideration.

Re: Feature Request for Enterprise Manager - Allow restore from Backup Copy Jobs
Hello Mike
Thank you for your request.
Are you referring to file and application level restores? An entire VM restore should be possible from a backup copy job.
For file and application restores, our built-in logic first retrieves backups from the primary job, as it’s expected that the primary repository is located locally in the same location as the production workload.
Best,
Fabian
