Feature request for proper restore of SharePoint versioning

Hello,
I really miss a possibility to restore file versioning of SharePoint items.
Our company perform backup via Veeam Backup & Repliacation. When I open SharePoint server backup in Veeam Explorer I can see file versioning (who and when created or modified a file), but after restoring a site there is only one author of all the files on the restored site - an administrator who performed the restore.
Is there posiblity to perform a complete restore of the SharePoint items/sites? Our company really use this SharePoint feature and impossibility of proper restore is a problem.
