Feature request - Gateway option for agent backup jobs
I have some customers who have highly segregated network infrastructures and where some Servers/Clients should/may not talk directly to the repository. However, it would be possible to transfer the data via a gateway server.
The possibility of configuring a gateway server for agent backup jobs would be practical

Hello,
in which scenario do agents not respect the gateway server setting if it's configured on the repository?
I remember requests to support gateways for Windows / Linux repositories, but your scenario should be working already today.
Best regards
Hannes

Re: Feature request - Gateway option for agent backup jobs
Hi Hannes,
In certain network configurations, I don’t want a server or client agent to communicate directly with the Hardened Repository, since they are located in different networks and security zones.
It would therefore be practical to route the data through a gateway server located in multiple networks or within the client network, and then allow traffic to the repository (either directly or via a firewall) only from that server.
I know that object storage is the popular alternative for this scenario, but not every customer has it!

Hello,
yes, with Linux / Windows repositories the request is valid and I added you +1 to the existing feature request.
Best regards
Hannes

[MERGED] Feature Request / Add a gateway option to comunicate with the Immutable Repository
#Case reference: 08163213
Hi Veeam Product Management,
I recently implemented an immutable repository using Veeam Infrastructure (VHR) that is completely isolated and communicates only with the Veeam Backup Server.
Since the physical machines I back up with VAW have no connectivity to the VHR, the backup fails because it attempts to connect to the VHR. There is no proxy or gateway option that uses the Veeam Backup Server itself.
Thank you!
DP
