Unfortunately, the Oracle processing in Veeam is currently implemented, when an Oracle database is detected in the Windows system, it is immediately tried to backup it. Many customers do not have Oracle expertise in the company, Oracle databases are acquired implicitly with applications. Most of them are running in "No Archive log" mode. This results in the first backup stopping the database and causing a huge problem, why the application is interrupted, etc.
In addition, there are applications that internally roll out their own Oracle database. But nobody needs to backup it.
In my opinion, it would be better in guest processing to support the Oracle processing, but it is deactivate by default. This would help to avoid frictions between customer and service provider. Only when all prerequisites are clarified and fulfilled, the admin could consciously activate the Oracle processing.
Thanks Harald

Re: Feature Request: Oracle guest processing
I think it is superfluous to mention that activating or deactivating via a registry key is very unattractive.
