Hi
It would be nice, if there would be a separate Role for adding VM´s to existing backup job´s or is it somehow achievable in current VBR version?

Re: Feature request: separate Role for adding VM´s to backup job´s
As in the only thing the user should be able to do is make changes to this step of the Job Wizard?
Job wizard: https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... ml?ver=120
Not possible really within the Veeam Backup and Replication Console, but I think Enterprise Manager is what you're looking for:

https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... ml?ver=120
This lets you delegate the backup responsibilities to the end-users in charge, manage restores, etc. While VBR has some Roles, you really don't want to be exposing people needlessly to the VBR server unless they're responsible persons; use Enterprise Manager as a protective layer between your users and VBR.
But, if that doesn't work and you really need a way to allow users to only add VMs, I can think of a very easy workaround with Tags and/or Resource Pools/Folders in VMware/HyperV. Just create some backup tags for your users, control who can add what on the VMware side, and add all the tags to the relevant jobs. Each run the job will query for this tag and return the VMs.
The VMware tagging engine though sometimes gets a little screwy [it's a technical term], so personally I would opt for Folders/Resource Pools. As I get it, the tags are managed through a separate service in the VMware environment and the tag service might crap out while everything else is fine; so you might just do the same with folders, and tell your users to move the machines they need backed up to those folders.
