Feature Request - Show Repository where Backups are stored
Hi,
I would like request having a "Repository" column to the Add VM from Backups selection window that shows which repository the selected Backup is located in.
The selection window I am talking about is the one that is shown when adding a VM from Backups to an Application Group.
I have 2 x new HPE StoreOnce and HPE configured the device replication by leveraging a BackupCopy job in Veeam v10.
This causes me to have 2 x Backup Jobs listed (one for each StoreOnce Repository).
This is fine in the Veeam Console as that lists the repository.
However any selections that show VM from backups does not list the repository.
Cheers
Paul

Hello,
and welcome to the forums.
Just to be sure which wizard you are talking about... We are talking about the "Application groups" wizard in the "Sure Backup" section of "Backup Infrastructure"?
I mean this one:
Best regards,
Hannes

"Application groups" do not support backup copy job targets. So I'm confused how it can offer you the same backup twice. This causes me to have 2 x Backup Jobs listed (one for each StoreOnce Repository).
Best regards,
Hannes

Re: Feature Request - Show Repository where Backups are stored
Hi,
Yes I am talking about that screen.
From that screen If I choose Add, Select from Backups I get the following screen:
As you can see it lists the Backup-Daily twice.
If it was to show the repository it would show PROD-SO3640 and DR-SO3640 respectively.
However what makes this most confusing is the order of display. Displayed is the Backup-Daily jobs in (I think) DR, then PROD order. Not on the screenshot, but lower down is Backup-TwiceDaily which is in the reverse order.
The HPE StoreOnce was added to an existing Veeam setup and the StoreOnce Veeam Configuration was guided by HPE StoreOnce specialists with Veeam knowledge (Not Tech support).
Thanks

Re: Feature Request - Show Repository where Backups are stored
If you have created a „periodic“ Backup Copy Job, you can select the source Repo in this step:
https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... ml?ver=100
This help you, to control you the data flow.
Was that your goal for this feature request?
If you have two HPE StoreOnce, you can use Catalyst Copy technology:

Re: Feature Request - Show Repository where Backups are stored
Hi Mildur,
Thanks for the suggestion.
I probably was not super clear in the original request.
The question is around SureBackup and determining which Backup Set to use when adding VM to the application group.
The StoreOnce has created the scenario, but is not the question, and is pretty much irrelevant to the question.
Cheers

Ah sorry, I thought, it will be for a backup copy job.

Re: Feature Request - Show Repository where Backups are stored
I believe Paul is already using Catalyst Copy jobs in Veeam B&R v10 but is talking about application group setup, not the backup copy itself. We need to check whether these backups are available for selection there as, as Hannes has mentioned, backup copy job targets are not supported.

ah, catalyst copy... that makes sense.
Yes, I can confirm that behavior also for V11.
@foggy: I will send you the details directly. I think improvements make sense for that situation.
