Hi,
Please add in the right click menu on a job an option to skip next occurrence and/or skip for X hours.
Then we won't have to disable a job and reenable it later.
Thanks.

Re: Feature Request - Skip next occurence
Hello J-S
Thank you for the request.
May I ask for which use case you would need this feature?
It would help me to better understand your requirements.
Best,
Fabian

Re: Feature Request - Skip next occurence
Hello Fabian,
Thank you for your response and for considering my suggestion. I appreciate the opportunity to elaborate on the use case for this feature.
In my current workflow, there are occasions when I need to perform significant changes to the systems that require initiating full backups and/or replication processes outside the regular schedule.
During these operations, I often encounter a situation where multiple pre-scheduled backup jobs are due to run concurrently with the unplanned full backup or replication job. To avoid resource contention and potential performance issues, my current workaround is to manually disable these conflicting scheduled jobs before starting the full backup or replication. Once the unplanned operation is complete, I then have to re-enable each job manually.
This procedure, though operational, is susceptible to mistakes and overlooked tasks due to human error. There is a danger of failing to reactivate a task, potentially resulting in missed backup opportunities. Moreover, disabling it causes all overnight tasks to be bypassed.
The ability to right-click on a job and select an option to "Skip Next Occurrence" or "Pause for X Hours" directly would streamline this process significantly. It would allow me to temporarily halt scheduled jobs without the need to disable them entirely, ensuring that they automatically resume as intended without any risk of oversight on my part.
This feature would not only enhance operational efficiency but also provide peace of mind, knowing that all jobs will continue as scheduled after the required exceptions, maintaining the integrity and reliability of our backup strategy.
Thank you for considering this feature. I believe it would be a valuable addition to many users who manage complex backup environments and require flexibility in their backup scheduling.
Best regards,
J-S

Re: Feature Request - Skip next occurence
Hello J-S
Thank you for sharing your use case.
Have you already tried the High Priority option in a backup/replica job for those unplanned operations?
https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... ml?ver=120
While the backup job is running, a snapshot of the machine gets created. Having the snapshot open for a long time is not recommended and may lead to full datastores or performance impacts. That's why we will probably not introduce a "pause/resume" feature for active running jobs.
Your request could only be applied to non-running jobs. Running jobs would have to be allowed to finish or be cancelled.
Best,
Fabian

Just to ask, what bottleneck do you see in the job statistics that you are impacted by performance issues?During these operations, I often encounter a situation where multiple pre-scheduled backup jobs are due to run concurrently with the unplanned full backup or replication job. Just to be clear. A running job can not "be paused" and then "resumed".It would allow me to temporarily halt scheduled jobs without the need to disable them entirely, ensuring that they automatically resume as intended without any risk of oversight on my part.
