Feature request "Start/Stop Backup jobs by portal user from "Jobs" tab in Enterprise Manager (old: Case #05175936)

We would like to request feature "Start/Stop Backup jobs by portal user from "Jobs" tab in Enterprise Manager ( Case ID: #05242625 and #05175936).
Because we need to feature for integration project Veeam Backup Server with Ansible project for working process, so We need this feature.
Please kindly check it what we are request it ?

and welcome to the forums. This is R&D forums, not support, but yes, this is the right place for feature requests

To better understand the request: did you check whether quick backup could be a an alternative today? Portal users can do quick backup. As we talk about Ansible... did you check alternative ways of starting jobs via PowerShell? What is the reason that it needs to be the Portal User role in Enterprise Manager?

Dear Mr.Hannes,

I have one project about Veeam Backup integrate with Ansible Project with my local team, but Ansible requires access and use Veeam Enterprise Manager for this process by accessing on the URL. Yes, Veeam Enterprise can run quick backup, but Ansible doesn't work with this option on " machine" tab, Ansible work with option " Job" tab in Veeam Enterprise Manager, when we assign a user Portal on this option on EM at "JOB" tap and Portal User can't Backup start/stop backup, so we need this option for integrating Ansible.

One more, We suggest to your team create one rule for user that can start/stop permission on "JOB" Tab at Veeam Enterprise Manager.

We' are waiting for this option.

if you want to finish your project in foreseeable future, then a workaround must be implemented (for example using the administrator role who can start / stop jobs).

We have no plans to change the roles permissions in foreseeable future. But thanks for your request, we noted it

Yes, We know administrator can do it, but we don't want to allow permission to another user team, so we want to allow permits user to only start/stop job like my request, please kindly check it.
We need this option for control and managed to make more security and follow what you say and for my understanding, your team can't change rule and custom for this my request, right ?

I need real information to keep as report and update to line manager, Please you kindly ask to your team, I get this feature request on new versions or what?
Because, We don't want to allow permission administrator to another user and another team, so We need this custom user for manager and security.

Please use a different way. The product will NOT be changed in a way that you ask for in any timeframe that might be useful for your project.

Thank you for update.
Yes, I know this feature request will not change soon, but I just want to make sure with you which version or date that I can get this request.
I know you need to build with your team what feature that user request and make it what feature that user request as to project.
I think you should have time or an estimate date for clients that request feature of your software, cos I think my feature request has more important to build your software more security level.

One more, Why I always ask you to estimate time, cos my manager, he always asks me about the date or time that you can release with this feature, so I hope you understand too.

If you need a date, then I would go for 28.03.2049. That's when I'm retired

PS: in case your next plan is to escalate it via your sales rep... it ends up at the same people that already answered here. You already got attention from product management. The answer is "not in any foreseeable future". Please remember that we build software for hundreds of thousands of customers...
