Hi,
We use alot of Special Characters in our Backup Job names (Hashtags, latin1 characters, brackets, íúóýþæö etc) but this can cause some problems with the file and folder names in the repositories, especially when moving them around from Windows->Linux->DataDomain.
My succession is to only use a-z,A-Z,0-9 and _- in the file and folder names that Veeam creates on the repositories.

Re: Feature request: Strip special chars from file/folder na
Hi Olafur,
Thank you for your feature request. Just out of curiosity can you please tell us why do you use these special characters in the job names etc? Do you have some job naming rules in-place?
Thanks!

We use the "logical" name schema in Veeam to match client names, departments and project/contract numbers and some of them got those crazy Icelandic characters in them so we can utilize Powershell for parsing.

Skipping some characters when creating files and repositories might cause bigger problems, so I'm not sure that it will solve your current problems. Thanks for the feedback anyway.
